Famous People with Synesthesia

Some famous people with Synesthesia

- Mozart

Some musicians and composers have a form of synesthesia that allows them to hear music as colors. Mozart is said to have had this form of synesthesia. He said that the key of D Major had a warm "orangey" sound to it, while B flat minor was blackish. A major was a rainbow of colors to him. This may explain why he wrote some of his music using different colors for different music notes. Also, why much of his music is in more major keys.

- Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix trusted his synesthesia. He liked to describe chords and harmonies as colors. He called the chord E7#9—often referred to by guitarists as the Hendrix chord—as "the purple chord," and used it to help form the verse of his song, Purple Haze.

"Purple haze all in my brain
lately things don't seem the same
Acting funny and i don't know why
excuse me while i kiss the sky"

- Stevie Wonder

Online Music Streaming Service Inspired By Synesthesia

Some musicians and composers have a form of synesthesia that allows them to hear music as colors. Mozart.

Synesthesia - A neurological condition in which stimulation of one neurological pathway leads to involuntary experiences in the second cognitive pathway.

We hope to simulate through our application, a very curious behavior of the human mind. A concept identified as Synesthesia.

In essence we provide an intuitive interface which simulates the perception by giving the user complete freedom in movement unlike traditional media players which offer an embedded waveform projection which is quite frankly, unappealing.

A specific form of synesthesia is Grapheme or colour based synesthesia where certain stimuli lead to the perception of colour.

Recent investigation done by V.S. Ramachandran
( TED Talk [Jump to 17:50 for the topic on Synesthesia] about "What brain damage can reveal about the connection between cerebral tissue and the mind, using three startling delusions as examples")

We hope to capture the spirit of the neurological phenomena which occurs very often in artists, musicians and writers who are part of our core target crowd.

By offering a unique perspective, we will be the very first on the scene with a brand new idea and progressively we shall introduce updates and features which will define us along with our sincere loyalty program to capture audiences.

Two of the most impactful media on the internet are Twitter and Blogs.

Most applications use one or the other in-app and try to co-ordinate with their website which leads to a slight lag in information.

The slightest lag in today's internet scenario leads to the loss of thousands of potential customers and almost immediate loss of interest.

We hope to counter that by incorporating both Twitter and Blogs API’s in order to positively impact audiences and to link back and trackback effectively without the loss of crucial seconds’, necessary for information transfer and maximum impact.

The customer base we seek to capture are of a high intelligent quotient and basically trend setters and connectors across the world. People whose opinions are valued and who do not compromise on any single aspect in a product as it is presented to them.

The mindset of the said people is manifested in recent years as the sudden broad skepticism and disillusionment of young people all over the world. A trend which only reflects that intellectually, the systems are lacking.

With a unique interface, unquestionably brilliant music and effective content writing, this application can be perfect.

There is a social impact too, the mystical power in music can alleviate the mind to such a great extent that it could powerfully affect the moods of people having suicidal tendencies and help them come out of lows in self-esteem. This may significantly bring down the number of suicides.
